Little Palette privacy policy

Last updated 4 November 2026

Little Palette is a coloring app for children, published by HalfPast Apps (Sergiy Bondarev) (“we”). This policy explains what the app does with data. In short: no tracking, no accounts, and ads only when a child chooses to watch them to unlock a page (on Android; never personalized, and never with the full version). We never collect names, email addresses, photos, location, contacts or the advertising ID, and nothing a child does in the app is linked to them.

What stays on the device

Pictures in progress, finished pictures, favorites and settings are stored privately in the app on the device. We never receive them. If Android backup is turned on, they are included in the device’s own backup (made only when it is end-to-end encrypted) and come back on a new phone. Uninstalling the app deletes them from the device.

Anonymous usage counts (only with a parent’s permission)

The app sends nothing about how it is used until a grown-up agrees. The first time a grown-up passes the parent gate, the app asks once whether to share anonymous usage counts; the answer can be changed any time in Settings → Your data, and turning it off also deletes counts not yet sent.

When allowed, the app counts moments such as “the app was opened”, “a page was opened or finished”, “a picture was exported”, “a new page was downloaded”, “a video was watched to unlock a page” and the steps of the optional purchase. Each count carries only the app version, the app language, whether the full version is owned, the page involved, and two rough ranges (how many pages were finished, how many days since the app was installed). There is no user, device, install or advertising identifier, so the counts can’t be linked to a person or a device. We use them only to learn which pages children enjoy and to fix problems, never for advertising, and we don’t share them with anyone. They are kept for 3 months, then deleted automatically.

Ads (Android only)

Every page can be unlocked in two ways: a grown-up buys the full version once, or a child chooses to watch two short videos to open one premium page for good. Those videos are the only ads in the app. They never appear while coloring, in the library or anywhere else, they never start on their own, and with the full version there are none at all. The iOS app has no ads.

The videos come from Google AdMob, a service certified for apps for children under Google Play’s Families policy. We set up every ad request for children:

To deliver an ad, count it, limit how often ads repeat and prevent fraud, Google processes information such as the device’s IP address (which may indicate its general region), the device type and operating system, information about the app, an identifier that is the same only within this developer’s apps (Android’s app set ID), and whether the video was watched. Google handles it as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. We don’t receive any of this; Google tells us only how many ads were shown, as a total for the whole app.

Downloading new pages

The app downloads newly published coloring pages from our server. To make sure only the genuine app from Google Play downloads them, it uses Google’s Play Integrity API: Google Play services on the device creates a token, and Google checks it for us. To do this, Google processes information about the app (its package name, version and signing certificate, and its Google Play license status) and about the device (an attestation that it is a genuine Android device). We receive only Google’s verdict (genuine or not); we don’t keep it, and we can’t use it to identify a device. Google handles this data as described in the Play Integrity terms and the Google Privacy Policy.

Our server

Our server runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests for us to deliver pages and receive the counts above. Like any website, a request reveals the device’s IP address to the server; we don’t log or store IP addresses, locations or other request details.

Purchases, reviews and notifications

Children

Little Palette is made for children and is designed to collect no personal information from them. The parent gate keeps purchases, settings, sharing choices and links outside the app away from children. It is not an age verification system. Watching videos to unlock a page doesn’t need the parent gate, because the ads are set up for children as described above; a child can always choose “Not now”.

Your choices and rights

You can turn the usage counts off in Settings → Your data, turn notifications off, or delete all the app’s data by clearing its storage or uninstalling it. Because the counts carry no identifier, we can’t find or tell apart any one family’s counts, so there is nothing we hold that could be linked to you. If you have a question, or want to exercise a right under the law where you live (such as the GDPR in the EU or COPPA in the US), contact us at sergiy.bondarev.ua@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the date at the top. If the app ever started collecting something new, it would ask a grown-up first.
